Mudroom details!

I am really excited about everything that got done this week in the mudroom. I didn’t update you last week because none of it was really picture worthy. So today there are several things to report.

The “modern farmhouse” board and batten is done:

I am so excited about how this looks! I just hope that you can still see it once it is painted!!

Window Casings:

You can see at little peak of this in the previous picture, but the window now has casing. I can’t believe what a difference this makes. I think we will slowly do this to the rest of the house!!

Shelf:

We will put our hooks on the board. We figured we might as well put a shelf up, as well. I like how it turned out. We opted for no dividers to give us more flexibility on how we use it. Plus, I like the look better.

New lights:

We made a late change in our light choice. This is still a cheap menards hack (like our first option). I liked our first option, but I think these are even better! I think they will look great with our other lights!

For me, this has been the most exciting week. I love how all of the details are coming together, and I am starting to feel like this mudroom will get done. Everything is in place. Now its all about prepping for paint. This is going to take awhile. Parker is filling nail holes and sanding them down, and then he has to caulk seams. Finally, we will have to tape off the room so that we can paint with a sprayer. We are still undecided if we will buy a sprayer and give it a go or hire someone to paint it. We DON’T WANT TO MESS IT UP!! So what do you think? I’d love to hear your feedback! I’ll be back with at least one more post this week.

  1. I would have had Parker route a bunch of slots into shelf box and the slide in dividers where ever. Changeable. Your welcome Parker.

    1. That is a good idea, too. I like the idea of one big open box, though. More modern.
