My favorite One Room Challenge Reveals

Over 200 people linked up to the One Room Challenge with us at Calling It Home. I’ve looked at every one of them, and I thought I would share my favorites with you. There were LOTS of great spaces! I had a list of 12 that I shared with Parker, and then he helped me narrow it down to 4 spaces. We only chose people who are amateurs like us – nobody with degrees in interior design and nobody that worked with a contractor. On a few of these, I am floored by what they got done in 5 or 6 weeks. In no particular order, here they are:

You really need to click on the link and see more. She did an amazing dresser makeover, made her own light that I would like to copy, and made a desk out of copper pipe. I am truly impressed. She did this all on a budget and DIYed pretty much everything including the artwork. To top it all off, she hand painted those shark teeth on the wall – yep, you read that right! Bravo, Jenny!

Sarah’s bio says that she is trying to take her builder grade home and turn it in to something special. That is pretty much what we are trying to do, as well. I think she accomplished that with her dining room redo! I love the light, the brick wall (which she still hopes to whitewash), and the new shiplap and window casings. It definitely doesn’t look builder basic anymore. I also think the round table and rug are a huge improvement! Mission accomplished, Sarah!

I just love the new vanity area. The tile is awesome, and I think Angela really had vision with those lights. I don’t think I would pick them out if I just saw them on a lighting website, but they look amazing in this bathroom! You need to click through for other pictures because the water closet and entrance to the closet also saw some great improvements. Take a close up look at the towels – they match the tile perfectly!

I love the vanity in this bathroom redo! The tub and shower are also major upgrades. I am so impressed at everything they got done! Again, make sure you click the link and check out more. One of my favorite things is the printer’s tray (that’s what google told me it was called) that she hung with a wreath. My grandma had one of these, and it still hangs in her house. She used it to display mini perfume bottles, which was a very cool collection. However, most of those have been passed on to my aunt, so this would be an awesome way to re-purpose the tray! Thanks for the idea Kristi!

I hope you all visit these blogs and find inspiration like I did! I’d love to hear your favorite parts! We have a pretty big update on our mudroom coming Thursday, so come back and check that out.
