Favorite finds at Ikea

We made an Ikea trip on Thursday! It was me, the kids, and my mom. It was partially for fun; but we also needed to buy the handles for the mudroom, and my mom wanted to look for some rugs for my brother’s new house. Living in the Indy area, we travel to the West Chester (Cincinnati), OH location. It takes about 2 hours exactly. Here’s what I bought:

All potentially for the mudroom. Not sure if I’ll bring in green accessories or not, but I want to give it a try. If I decide not to, these two things only cost $7 total.

The other random stuff I bought. Parker has been accidentally tearing our towels when he dries off (I know…what?), so we got these bath SHEETS which felt very comfy and will go with the bath mats we purchased on our last trip. The little guy talked me into this guitar pillow. It’ll go in his room, and we had just gotten rid of a few toys/stuffed animals the day before. The stool is for our main floor bathroom so the kids can be more independent in washing their hands in the bathroom.

Towels / pillow / stool

That’s all I bought on this trip. I got out of there for just over $100, which I was happy about since that included 8 cabinet pulls!

Here are a few other things I think Ikea is knocking out of the park:

One of the most popular design styles right now is anything inspired by Joanna Gaines. If you loved this Joanna original:

Or use the Grundtal line. I personally like this look better. Sorry for the fuzzy picture on the right. I think this was about the time one of my kids pushed our cart into a baby stroller

Both the Grundtal and Fintorp rail stystems can be used for so many different things. If we end up using our desk in the mudroom as a workspace pretty regularly, I’d love to hang the Grundtal rail above the desk with containers for pens, scissors, crayons, etc. I also love all of the different ways these can be used in a kitchen!

I love the use of the Grundtal rails in this kitchen!

Finally, I was in AWE of this light! I don’t feel like pictures do it justice. It definitely wouldn’t go in every house, but it would make a statement in the right space. It was so cool!

Ikea PS 2014 – It’s only $79.99! If I saw this in someone’s house, I would guess it was way more expensive. I love how you can open it different amounts to get different looks. I also loved the glow of the copper. It comes in a silver version, but I am not sure it would have the same effect. I did not see that version in the store.

This post could go on and on. I love me some Ikea. I just tried to keep this post to my absolute favorite finds. However, the Indy area is suppose to get an Ikea in the fall of 2017, so you can expect more Ikea posts in the future 🙂 Someday I would like to post about all of the Ikea stuff we own and how we use it and like it. If you want more Ikea, check out the kitchen in our first corner house. Also, I posted at a weird time last week, so if you missed my second installment of Lake Houses of Indiana (this was a roadside edition), then check that out. The first house is storybook worthy! Oh, and the mudroom is still coming along. Its just lots of sanding and caulking, so I am not going to bore you with a post on that. Hopefully ready for paint by the end of this weekend!!
